BACKACHE AND WEAK LEGS

Last Saturday, I was fortunate enough to get hold of two tickets to MTV Asia Awards 2008 in Arena of Stars, Genting Highland. It proves to be quite a tormenting experience but fun nonetheless. Being a member of the “MOSHPIT CREW”, we were basically the groupie for the awards show and we were required to be on hyperactive mode the whole day. Our journey started as early as 11.00pm at KL Sentral station. There, we were greeted by the MOSHPIT team leader and got divided into groups and i got assigned into group “I”. It was then, I realised how young my fellow crew members were. The word “OLD” was all over my mind at that point of time. I looked at my partner in crime, Mr Jeremy Chen and we sort of like nodded at each other in acknowledgement. Then we got ushered into a bus and embark on our one hour long journey to the city of entertainment. We reached there around 1.00pm and given a 90 minutes break before we report for the red carpet event. I went for a quick bite at Burger King and pay a whooping RM20.95 for a Whooper set.

TEST TEST! ONE TWO, ONE TWO!

At 2.30pm sharp, the MOSH PITTER’s were all rounded up at “The Pavillion” for a briefing session. They call it the briefing session but i would call it the “Scream as loud as you can and pose for the camera session”. Basically there were loads of cameraman everywhere and whenever there’s a camera lens on us, we’ll freaking scream and make silly faces for the camera. We spent one whole hour in the briefing hall, behaving like a bunch of out control 5 years old.

RED RED CARPET ON THE FLOOR, WHO’s THE FAIRIEST OF EM ALL!

After the briefing session, we were ushered to the red carpet area. It was then I realised that I’m about to be in touching distance with Leona Lewis, One Republic, Karen Mok, Jared Leto, Pussy Cat Dolls and the list go on. I found my heart beating really fast and eagerly anticipating the arrival of the first superstar.

I REALLY NEED TO PEE

I spent the next one hour waiting behind the barricade and after 30minutes; I was in desperate need to relieve myself. Unfortunately, we were freaking barricaded and quarantined inside the red carpet area. I have no choice but to hold it in and cursing myself for consuming a large cup of coke prior to the red carpet session.

RARRRGGHHH!!

After one hour of agonizing pain and full body fidgeting, I heard a loud cheer from the crowd and i saw this tall figure of a woman gracing down the red carpet. Oh my god!! It’s VJ Denise from MTV!
